Sanath Jayasuriya should be DROPPED

Saturday, 26 September 2009 - 9:49 AM SL Time

Sri lanka lost to England in a very difficult pitch yesterday at the Wanderers. It was a bowlers paradise and Andrew Strauss won the Toss and bowled first..Sanga said he would have batted so the Toss did not matter

Sanath Jayasuriya is the weakest link in the side..He should be dropped for the final match against NZ.

I would like to hear your views on Sanath

This is what cricinfo said,
Sanath Jayasuriya's place may not be as much a predicament simply because the space he occupies in Sri Lankan cricket is altogether different anyway he is at a more advanced point in his career than Murali. And concerns about his form are not new. If we want to be ruthless about it,
then he averages barely over 10 outside the subcontinent over the last two years and half that here

Sana should be in the team no matter what, even if he is over 50. He is our SACRIFICE to please the batting god:))))

Somebody with BALLS in the selecting team please TELL Sanath to pack and leave if he doesn't score any runs, he is blocking the chance of a young player.
Sanath fails in 25 innings and in one he scores a fifty. Next time please send him without a bat, it won't make any difference anyways.

Sanga,
Please keep up your good work. Next time try to beat the bowler who got you out.

Hate Sanga's captaincy already.. he talks too much with no action

what was he saying about toss yesterday and battling 1st anyway.. stupidity

and I am totally against us taking battling powerplays when bowlers are carrying bats

Should have been dropped purely on current form. He was a great batsman then, not now. Udawatta Should have been in the team.

I also dont like Sanga's captaincy much. Mahela could have continued further 2 or 3 years.

This is a very similar situation to Sanga keeping wickets and batting at no. 03. his average dropped and once he was relieved of keeping wickets his average soared. captaincy is too much of a burden on him.

I wished yesterday they would select Thilina Thushara but they didnt. We dearly missed him on a seaming wickets. the best seam bowler in our squad sat out.

We emotional Sri Lankan cannot be professionals. Thats where our failure is as a country / nation.

Santh did a good job for SL Cricket early days as a player. Now his time is over. He should sit back and train new generations than trying to all by himself. This is an inherited weakness in Sri Lankans.

Murali, also in the same boat. We do not want him to bat at this stage of life. We expect his 10 overs to be below 30 or even 20. When England score 60 from his 10 overs (even Less his score of 18 it was 42) was well below his reputation.

Sanga, from the day he came and send our Little Kalu away early only a Talker as he is planning to practice Law after cricket carrier. Only plus is little bit of a team man than Marven.

Till be leave our emotions out, select & play the game like true professionals we cannot improve. We may win few but not at
the game at its higher level.

EXACTLY. Sanga is like a 16 years old blonde. Doesn't know what to say and what not to say. He is the worst SL captain I ever saw. He doesn't have any game plan and always trying to do something innovative rather than trying to follow the simple rules. It all ends up in a big chaos.
