The Sri Lankan Navy reportedly opened fire in the air in the early hours on Tuesday and destroyed the fishing nets and the fish catch of the four mechanised boats off Kottaipattinam coast in Pudukottai district.
A senior official of the Fisheries department told The Hindu that 12 fishermen of Kottaipattinam coast ventured into the sea in four mechanised boats on Monday morning and the incident occurred while they were fishing in the early hours on Tuesday.
The official pointed out that the fishermen who reached the shore in their boats said that the Sri Lankan navy warned the fishermen after destroying the nets and throwing away their catch in the sea. However, the boats were not damaged in the incident.
The fishermen after reaching the shore narrated the incident to the officials of the Fisheries department who recorded their statement to file a formal complaint with the police. |

This is happening since decades. What Govt of Hindia has done to protect Southern Indian fishermen ??
Well, GOI gave radars, weapons, and warships to the attackers.

Nothing. As long as they get their rupees, those Indians politicians won't do anything to protect their own citizens, they are exactly like their Sri Lankan mates.

How come when SLN fired into the sky fish nets get destroyed ???
These things can happen only in the country where Monkey king is governing and citizens prefer to marry dogs and Frogs over women.
IT looks likes a FAKE report.
In one place, fishermen were fishing when this happened. IN another place their nets and the catch were in the boats.

Well, you came from this country, so such things even happen in Sorry Lanka. Better marry a frog than butchering thousands of innocents or burning down an entire library or making silly racist bills like the Sinhala Only, and the next minute claiming the Land as the Land of Buddha..

Tamils inhabit the island well before any Viyaja or Sinhala existed. Each day , fishermen from TN can see the SL's shores, one must be SingleCell to believe that Southern Indian people (a maritime people) waited for a Bengali to land in SL !
