Mangala breathes fire and brimstone at Govt. over the acute miseries of the IDPs

SLFP (M) wing leader Mangala Samaaweera issued a dire warning to the Govt. yesterday ( 18 Aug) against its cold callous attitude towards the IDPs who are in abysmal suffering in the Govt. camps.

He told a news conference that he will not hesitate to haul up the Govt. before the Int. community to expose the Govt. attitude. 90 days of the Govt`s 180 day deadline to resettle the refugees to their former habitats is over . Yet , so far nothing as been done. It is doubtful that the Govt. can adhere to its deadline , he asserted.

He demanded from the Govt. to publish the names of those dead , rehabilitate the LTTE cadres , if any and re settle the others. All are not LTTE because they were born in LTTE held areas , he emphasized.

In the wake of the rains , the miseries and hardships of the IDPs have aggravated with inundation of the camps , with the worst yet to come when the monsoon expected shortly , sets in, he observed.

They know that the govt is ready for settling most IDPs.

So, they are trying to make the best out of it for their gain.

That's true. Once Government resettle IDPs, UNP would say government did that because they pressurize them. Only nobody is going to believe it. Now everybody knows that UNP is a joke.

Anyway, as long as Mangala like politicians, there are so many, are active, Sri Lanka does not have a future.

That needs to be explained to the voters when the time comes.
