the most serious of which was,what took place in mannar where a serious fire fight took place with a group of ltte cadres in land and sea in a failed effort of a group which attempted to make a landing on the mannr coast.there were a few attacks on forces personal in some other parts and several attacks took place in idp camps.all attacks were kept media shy fr obvious reasons.

an estimated 1700 odd ltte cadres are believed to be present in the jungles and the eastern leader col ram`s surrender plan was changed in the last minute following the killing of 11 of his cadres upon which he made his escape.

its in this context why the hunt for kp is important and expedited.
