Tue, Jul 28, 2009, 06:46 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

July 28, Colombo: Following the suspension of pornographic web sites in Sri Lanka, the government has taken measures to ban all the movies rated `Adults-only` in the country.

The Minister of Cultural Affairs Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said the government will impose the ban as soon as possible on the `Adults-only` movies once the Cabinet approval is obtained.

Additionally, all the commercials telecast on local television channels should be approved by the government before telecast, the Minister said. Advertisements on TV, radio and newspapers will be required to obtain the approval of the Public Performance Board.

According to the Cultural Affairs Minister the Government will also prohibit the printing of lewd magazines and papers.

According to the Minister, the government also hopes to amend the Public Performance Act so that the Public Performance Board would get more power.

Sri Lanka Courts earlier ordered the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) to suspend twelve pornographic web sites until August 7th.

Anud,
Germany promote Incest. Pope goes to Africa and say don't use condoms.

Just because the Pope went to africa and say dont use condoms it doesnt mean the Africans have to stop using condoms... The Pope just gave his opinion... it is pointless of you to continuously bring this argument.. it is the responsibility of the countries leaders in Africa to do the proper and educate people about condoms.. you think if the Pope talks against global warming the Americans will stop polluting the planet with their big industries???... lol.. stop blaming the Pope.. if your so concerned about Africa go there and do something about people using less condoms...

You are like your German POPE.

Germany promote Incest

this also got nothing to do with the Pope... this is the German governments actions and decisions. the Pope NEVER told to have Incest sex!! it is religious bigots/racists like the kind of you only that tries to put the blame on another religion. when anybody with proper sense knows that the above actions you mentioned at the top got nothing to with the Pope or the Church... .... your Theopohbia is really creeping into you....

Good way of creating a black market for adult films.
At this rate Buddhist Talaban will take over the country within the next ten years.
Parents cannot properly educate or control their children as to what is good and what is bad so they want so they want it banned. Will it solve the problem? I think not. I don't think blue films are legal in SL but it has always been around. Look at ME with all the strict laws, there is more blue films than the west, adultery is common mainly among migrant workers, liquor is not legal but home brew is freely available on the black market.

Take responsibility for your own kids without outsourcing it to the state.

AnuD,

i will always be Rock'n Roll, Rebel Music, guys who killed the Pope and his hypocrite crap generations ago.

Love peace and unite rules. Have fun, treat your Ladies nice!

Most Sri Lankans hate these JHU/JVP ideas as it throws SL back a few hundred years in terms of social evolution, same as MidEast fanatics.

These Burkha gals here on Phuket look like from another planet, all covered except the eyes in the burning sun. Their husbands of course in shorts, t shirt staring at the sexy Western, Chinese, Thai bikini girls.

In the evening these Arabs drop their wives at their hotel and go for the cheapest brothels they could find to release their normal male feelings

Is this what you want for SL ?
