When the war was going on, they were behind India's tail begging them for advice & guidance as can be seen from Gotha interview.
I don't think Indian govt helped to the extent they could have helped.
India created LTTE. when it comes to annihilation of LTTE, India moved to a side in order to make Tamilnadu happy.
People published articles saying that Indian Navy will be helping. but, it is the SLN who had to look after almost everything.
India was scared, that if LTTE came victorious, the next step would be to attack Indian NAvy etc., to separate Tamilnadu. |

OK, helping injured enemy in the battlefield, It s very normal. But it s not usual to send them to rehabilitation.
I never heard about india send their enemies to rehabilitation. |

If not for India, Ltte leadership would have escaped unscathed..
When USA was ready to send in their ships to express solidarity with Eelam tamils, it was then Foreign sectratory Menon who stopped it ...
There were so many ways India helped which few are aware of |

do not kid yourselves, india and tamilnadu tried to restrict the movement of SL Navy saying they are the ones killing TN fisherman not putting the blame on the party responsible for doing it, LTTE. otherwise SL Navy would have prevented many arms smuggling from TN and Kerala to SL |

But USA could not stop the demands of india when india did not like this idea & virtually vetoed it |

India created the ltte to checkmate USA influence in colombo....right now india had signed the us-indo nuclear deal and have become a partner of the USA/west in fighting terrorism in the region.
for India, ltte is not needed any more vis-a-vis the US/west...
delhi's support to colombo to kill ltte and tamils have created a rajapakse monster and dragged china closer than ever before to the india's southern states.
why china supported the war against the tamils?? is it because they love the sinhalas , hate tamils or wanted to get closer to indian territory??
india had taken a bold action concerning the ltte and eelam tamils besides the 60 million tamilnadu tamils....now the ltte is gone....it is time india takes the same bold action without considering the 18 million sinhaleies if it is indeed concerned about it's national security.
eelam was denied in the name of india's national security....now china has moved into the island....isnt it a national security threat?? |
