Big Buddas in hong kong is on a elevated position, that is on a small hill, you need to climb on the steps to get there. Just by looking at the statue, looks like Narita one is the tallest.

Check this out, worlds largest WOODEN building ( a bhuddist temple in NARA, Japan)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C5%8Ddai-ji

This is also worlds largest WOODEN temple.

Thanks for the information..I posted what is given in the web site. That is all..I have been there recently..went by cable car..I am sacred of heights but did it somehow..a very nice experience. they have made a village for tourists who visit the temple, it is amazing!!

if you ever get a chance to visit HK don't miss it..

it does not matter which Buddha statue is the tallest or the biggest..just a place of worship..

Nearly all Japanese are Buddhist, though they dont practice it the way we do it in SL. Generally, when someone died, almost all Japanese people are following Buddhist customs.

practice is not visible...Japanese are more Buddhist than Sri Lankans....It is a big show off in Sri Lanka..less they practice more they fool off..

we should demand damages from India for dragging the war

Not only for dragging, from starting the killing machine, feeding, training LTTE pigs.

In the western world faith is less. Xmas, newyear, easter are all for holidays, pleasure & business purposes. But i am not blaming the holidays and pleasure part as it is required.

I am not sure what was the hidden meaning behind this post (if there is a hidden meaning)

for a lot of working families these holidays are Family time..some go on holidays (pleasure). Children love Christmas times cos they get their gifts, a wife would love to have her husband with her for a longer period relaxing in a beach, it is quality family time.

There are others who has to continue working even during these holidays cos these are periods that will bring additional business and income..specially when you own a company.they will take holidays during summer vacation when the kids have holidays
