Only politicians are clamouring for devolution. Politicians have been using racism as an easy way to come into power. The same people who talk about the right to self-determination will cry for the blood of the Tamils if that serves their purpose. That has been the case throughout our post independent history,
If MR thinks 13th will keep him in power yes...but it will undermine all the sacrifice....erase what MR's leadership has brought up.
WELL SAID.

SPETNAZI:
it s sad to see that you have put each every issue in SL over religion... any ways your kind cant do much damage to SL nowadays.. since most people in SL have matured and gone far away from that stone age mindset..
IF sri Lankan people decided what they wanted we would never had had this kind of violence.
Outside is interfering in the peaceful life of Sri Lankans. Sinhala Buddhists were silent for 2000 years. that is why they have to fight back now.
YOu are not either aware or you have no concern (no reason for that) about the NEW COLD WAR that is GOING ON IN THE WORLD and Sri Lanka has been a battle ground in that war.

seems completely out of touch....would stay close to Tamil Diaspora....reality in Sri Lanka is beyond 13th in some districts...religion yes, has scored massively over Buddhists in past 10/20 years....matured yes, would say most matured in Asia, underlines why they bring in leaders like CBK who ruined that country beyond recognition....excalate separatism and entertain IC worriers to interfere at every thing.
MR a oppertunist....some what...has he done anything reasonably to Sri Lanka during his tenure from late 20s....as a politician..?
where was he when CFA came in...?
what was with him when 10 Military camps closed down...?
but with all good and bad under his belt he select his icons wisely....how long he can manage things.

Sinhala Buddhists were silent for 2000 years. that is why they have to fight back now.
They were hardly silent. Check this out.
The Bandaranaike Assassination (1959):
Drafted in to the conspiracy allegedly by the Venerable Mapitigama Buddharakkitha, the Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Somarama reluctantly consented to assassinate the Prime Minister
In 1915, riots broke out in the British colony of Ceylon, the climax of a controversy between Sinhalese Buddhists and a new element among the commercial 'Moors' (Muslims)....... headmen, monks and traders had planned anti-Moor action, especially in coastal areas, the question of conspiracy remains unsettled.
Sextremist (Sinhalese EXTREMIST) have been there for thousands of years and still there.

Year 2000:
In a surprise move, Buddhist monks under the National Sangha Council, demanded Indian intervention to prevent the fall of Jaffna to the Tamil Tigers. The hard-line Buddhist monks, who earlier threatened to self immolate themselves, when Indian troops were sent to the island in 1987, to disarm the Tigers.
They also agitated against the Norwegian initiative to broker peace talks between the LTTE and the Government. Buddhist monks led by Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera, known for his extremist militant harangues, along with monk Elle Gunawansa, another hard-liner, met Shiva Shankar Menon, Indian High Commissioner in Colombo and appealed for military help to 'crush the Tamil guerrilla outfit.'
Hardly an appoach by supposed to be religious priests, they should be promoting peace & harmony , but promoting war and hate. |

SPETNAZ: religion... stone age mindset..
Those who claim to have no religion have almost religious like beliefs in Science, in money, in busy bodying etc. They attach themselves to things so as to forget the extreme fragility of life, in this process they do lot of harm to others and at time to themselves.
Buddhism is valid at stone age as well as today. The man who was shaping a flint could also have looked at the life process squarely on the face which is exactly what the Buddhism does.
How can the lump of rock which was earth 5 billion years ago flourish in to oceans, fish, forests, flowers and to man? What is the solution to this never ending struggle which ends with death to whatever came to exist ?
Buddhism shows us a path to that discovery and more which ultimately leads us to peace and happiness . It has, throughout the history , helped men to be better. Isn t it a reason enough to protect this religion/ philosophy which is ingrained into our genetics as well as to each rock and boulder of the Sri Lankan soil?

Anud,
IF sri Lankan people decided what they wanted we would never had had this kind of violence.
yes that why many blunders that happened in SL in the past.. but for once an unbiased leader like MR came and genuinely want to bring lasting peace in SL and all we hear is extremists raising their voice.. but keep in mind he will not make any amendment for one community advantage...it will be fair for all...
Outside is interfering in the peaceful life of Sri Lankans. Sinhala Buddhists were silent for 2000 years. that is why they have to fight back now.
dont be so insecure about Sri Lanka.. if we managed to silence all the western terrorist supporting countries and defeated the LTTE within 3 years why are you so scared of outside??? you think MR will bring out a proposal that will only satisfy the minority??? as I said it will be something that both Majority and the Minority will be happy about... but you were talking some BS about Buddhists being minority in the world... well that is irrelevant here.. Sri Lanka will not get weak or extinct... but it will thrive in the coming years with the defeat of terrorism and with a proper solution for all.. there is no need to fight back or do whatever you mentioned.. dont be so insecure about what you believe in.. your concern about Buddhism is genuine. and I respect that.
but what puzzles me is your living in Canada.. why not go back to SL make your voice hear??? what is holding you back in a western christian country???
YOu are not either aware or you have no concern (no reason for that) about the NEW COLD WAR that is GOING ON IN THE WORLD and Sri Lanka has been a battle ground in that war.
what is the new cold war??? are you talking about West Vs the East??? LOL.. these are excuses like extremists like you to shed more blood... that is why I said people of your opinion is only a handful in SL... so you cant do much damage even if you were in SL.. best example is the bigot champika ranawaka...he has clearly misunderstood MRs plans.. but it is good MR showed him the proper place where he is standing at the moment....
MR ?????????
HE is a politician.
of course he is.. and he is our president... he will bring about a solution for all to be happy...... in Sri Lanka, true patriots over power extremists like you and champika... as I said before you people cant do much damage to SL... your the best example for that...lol... look where your sitting now... probably the chair is made in Canada!!:)... |
