ChennaiGuuy, I agree with you.

Of course, but there's no point dwelling on it when society has changed in the 94 years that have gone past.

But the bhuddist fundamentalism hasnt changed a bit.
That is why i brought this 1915 incident back again.
Look what JHU wants to do for MRs solution.

If Sri lankans specially sinhalese want to avoid another prolonged war with Tamils the whole sinhalese bouddhist based constitution should scrapped and bring a new constitution to ensure the basic rights of other ethnics without any down grade treatment on Tamils

This is the moment that sinhalese should think twice intelligently to remove all ill-treatments on Tamils ,the second largest population in Sri Lanka.

All the sinhalese backward classes should get together to comed with one voice to implement a political solution as expected by international communities specially India where you will find nearly 65 millions tamils are wating for a reasonable solution.

So don't be a fool once again like your past banda.

In 1915, riots broke out in the British colony of Ceylon, the climax of a controversy between Sinhalese Buddhists and a new element among the commercial 'Moors' (Muslims). A court ruling disappointing to the Buddhists, combined with economic complaints against Moors in this centenary of British conquest, led to a communal clash in Kandy during Wesak (Buddha's birthday) in May 1915. During the following two weeks, the riots spread to Colombo and along the west coast, greed increasingly matching creed as a prime motive. ........ Since, however, headmen, monks and traders had planned anti-Moor action, especially in coastal areas, the question of conspiracy remains unsettled.

The Fact is Sinhalese are still a 'Frog in the well'. They knew a little about world. Meantime Sinhalese from village are very kind except a few leaders & JHU monks.

Eelam as independent state is dead but could exist in some other ways like a federal setup within sri lanka !
