My question is at present Royal college has 2300 students and the college has collected Rs. 6,700,000.00 (Rs.6.7 million) to construct this monument.
Royal doesn't have 2300 students! There's around 9000 or so at the moment.
Can we have proof about this collection from scholarship students, please?
Considering your facts are way off, makes it a bit difficult to believe. |

BlackPanther or whatever sitty name you call yourself,
I will start the reply in a nicer way
Shut the F$^% up:))))
What's wrong with you peelamists? Whydo you guys have to spread LIES so much? That's the reason why the whole world ignores whatever you guys say.
This was built back in 99,2000 when I was studying at Royal. Nobody collected 2500Rs from students to build this and its not the way how the things are done in Royal College. There was no pressure on the students to collect money to build this. You are a stateless LOSER who tries to send away your frustration by spreding lies.
Get a life you pathetic LOSER. |

| This was built back in 99 or 2000, and then there were only few names listed. Most of them were from 86 batch like Kahadawala, Rajiv Kulatunga, Ian and Anura Nana, but I don't think the list has become very long even now. No offense guys we haven't contributed much to the war effort other than with the pen.. |

Magha,
As I have always written here, Royal College has a National outlook uniting children from all walks of life, language, strata, religion and race.
Those who have learnt at Royal have contributed to the national benefit without any reservation. As far as I know, not many have joined the forces like what Ananda college had done.
These two schools have been founded on distinctive visions and their mission have been influenced differently.
From Royal College, it was mostly sportsmen who joined the forces. During the JVP insurrection, there were Royalists in the forces. I doubt if there were more than 2 commanding officers who were Royalists in the last 5 years.
I know there was a Commodore in the Navy 5 years ago.Again he is a sportsman and Chartered Accountant from Royal college. There was an Engineer cum sportsman who is a Colonel
retired from service 10 years ago.
I too joined the military after graduation, being a sportsman. All three of us are Boxers.
