Mosquito coil manufacturer in Sri Lanka found guilty of supporting mosquitoes

A mosquito coil manufacturing company at Kaduthuththiripitiya in Weerangula, Gampaha was found guilty by the Courts for neglecting to rid its premises of mosquito breeding places.
Attanagalla Magistrate D.A. Ruwan Pathirana has sentenced an official of the company to six months rigorous imprisonment, suspended for five years.
The Courts further imposed a fine of Rs. 1,500 as well on the accused from the mosquito coil factory.
The Public Health Inspector of Weerangula and the Police brought the charges against the coil manufacturer.

| Sri Lanka should revise their British Time penal codes and revise the penalties. What is Rs. 1500 for a offence like this nature? This amount is not enough even to fill petrol for this mans car? |

or they could have used this as an excuse???lol...either ways funny story:))...still mosquito's are immune to coils nowadays... I experienced this first hand when last year when I was in SL... the quality of the coil has gone down badly... |

May be you should contact the Municipal Councils and Urban Councils in Sri Lanka. They are the largest producers of Mosquitoes in Sri Lanka. ANy Sri Lankan will vouch for that fact. With some incentive given to these councils and specially the Chairmen and councillors to increase their good mosquito production strategies your company definitely has very good prospects in Sri Lanka. |
