I found the original article by Dan McDougall 'The Disappeared'. At the bottom he has listed several so called attacks on Tamils but he has interestingly failed to list the following
1. Pettah bomb which killed some 140 people
2. Aranthalawa attack which killed over 100 monks
3. Anuradhapura Sri Maha Bodhi attack which killed some 150 people
4. Central bank attack
Actually ALL the attacks which the LTTE terrorists did were not mentioned. Soooo, attacks on other Sri Lankan civilians in the South are NOT ATTACKS?? They are ok activities??? Justifiable freedom things?? Come on... dont make us laugh!
And do you honestly think this MacDougall chap is being honest in his reporting??? You really think it is true that there were 5000 caders surrendered?? Guess what there was no such thing. The guy is deliberately lying and you diaspora gullibles swallow hook line and sinker as usual!! Interesting (and regrettably, laughable)
By the way Nadesan and Pulithevan were not tortured and killed they were shot (dont know if it is by the SLA or LTTE terrorists) while they were trying to escape. They have as you may know pleaded and beggied Solheim to arrange the surrender. The story is that the LTTE terrorists killed them as they were going to the SLA to surrender. I am not sure which side killed them but they certainly were not tortured.
I suggest you think twice before reproducing articles which are less than objective. Why are you even bother Thivya, it is over and diaspora that supported the terrorists lost. terrorists themselves lost. It will do you and likes of you a great deal of help if you accept the fact that the LTTE is a failure and the concept of la la land is a bigger failure.
Those who supported the LTTE and funded them are equally responsible for the loss of innocent lives and the present plight of Tamils in Sri Lanka.

The Tamil Cholas defeated the Northern Indian kingdoms extended the Tamil rule over Gangetic plains, they sent expeditions to China and fought with the Chinese in the sea and they defeated Sinhalese and ruled the entire Island of Sri Lanka. They fought with all three of them on separate occasions, they didn't have to face them as a united force against them but the LTTE faced all of them together.
I am not sure the mighty Cholas could have even lasted for 30 years if the Northern anti Tamil Kings, Chinese and Sinhalese were united and fought against them at once. But the LTTE had to face all of them together and managed to survive for 35 years and gave hell to our historic enemy Sinhalese.
The Sinhalese could have never defeated the LTTE without the help of the Northern Indians and Chinese. Therefore, I would say the LTTE had more than enough Tamil Chola might but unfortunately our enemy Sinhalese had the help of Chinese, Northern Indians and many others.

LTTE did not have Chola might or any might. They had the terrorist mentality and a maniac called VP at the helm. They also had some gullibles abroad who funded them as a panacea to their easily bruised egos.
Now the panacea is gone, VP is gone and the ego is also bruised.
So instead of going about with this Chola might, Pandya might Kerala might etc etc learn to accept just ONE fact.
The LTTE might is nothing but a myth. All it took was less than three years to capture ALL of your so called traditional la la land.
