| Thank god GOSL finally decided to recruit tamils into the army in a bigger scale. This is good. Next thing is to allow PC's to have police powers. Slowly but surely, development and ethnic integration will happen. Foreign living LTTE goons will never be happy if good things happens to SL and the tamils who inhabit the island. Because such a move will be detrimental to their eelam dream. But, MR govt showing true leadership here. |

yarlan, people like you are a very tiny minority in our diaspora, and I'm happy. We are weak because of people like you who betray Tamils to make Sinhalese's govt job even easier. Just few days after the slaughter (yes the slaughter happened in case you have doubts, and thats the very reason why the coward army blocked any media and humanitarian access) you were crying like most of us. Today you are talking a totally different story. We failed because there is no consistence in our speech. We failed because people like you change camps with the weather.
IIt seems like you are afraid of people like Yarlan.
Regarding, IDPs, for god sake, the war ended a month ago. How can your resettle, 250,000 people. How long did it take for your friends to herd them and move them from place to place. You will find out, that you will be in the minority soon.

My suggestion would be to have unique and complete set of resorts with following features..
1. First class accommodation typically found in top resorts.
2. Cruise port
3. Scuba diving
4. Snorkeling
5. Para-sailing, jet skiing, surfing
6. Nature tours / Safari
7. Sight seeing trips to see ancient ruins
8. Helicopter / sea plane rides to see hill country and water falls.
9. Adventures - hiking on mountains and rain forests.
10. Shopping - Gems, jewelry
11. Culture experiences.
12. Night life.
13. deep sea fishing.
Now we are talking super destination where you can experience some of africa, carribean, mexico, and hawaii all combined in one place. If executed right, this can be a bonanza to the entire country. Key is to improve infrastructure with proper planning.

| International airport in NE should be planned for direct visits to places there. Or faster trains from Colombo. in Egypt, 250km from luxor to aswan takes 3 hrs, but in SL it takes abt 10 hrs to travel same distance. |

Sri Lanka s tourism authorities have unveiled plans for a substantial new resort development in the previously off-limits north of the country.
good move this will boost the lively hood of the people living there.... |

These are all legal activities.
How about associated illegal activities.
Drug dealers, Brothels or so called escort agencies, pedophiles,
then to control police forces and hospital and councilling services to help those who are affected ? |

Sorry, my vision is for a family resort. Casinos, escort services, massage parlors may be necessary evil. But, pedophiles should be dealt with maximum punishment. |
