BTW, if you have tamil relatives or friends, they too must be low caste. High caste tamils do not associate with sinhalese according to thivya.

Sri Lankan Tamils can live in Sri Lanka as proudly thinking it as the own country, just like other people.

The above statement sounds like, you are saying that Sri Lanka is not Tamil's own country but we Tamils CAN THINK of Sri Lanka as our own country. And you supposed to be the voice of moderate Sinhalese in this foum. : ))))))
We Tamils don't need any approval from Sinhalese to call Sri Lanka as our own country.
traditional Tamil culture will prevail in north and east without any change.
The Tamil language, culture and tradition won't survive with the impending Sinhala colonization of North- East. The Tamils saw the effect of Sinhala colonization in the East. That was the main factor prompted the Tamils to fight for separation.
The situation will get even worse with a president who celebrates the victory celebration over Tamils for months and who wants to build Buddhists stupas in the North East to mark the defeat of Tamils. His minions are declaring him as the incarnation of the Sinhala king who defeated the Tamils 2000 years ago. All his actions are reminding the Tamils that the Sinhalese are our historic enemies.

Though you live in Germany (?), it seems you live in stone-age.
World is changing, and Sri Lanka too. With the failure of LTTE, people understand nothing is going to work, if try by FORCE.
Dont be too much stuborn,..the majority Tamils are moving to the practical direction. You can join them, or stay where you are and watch how they are living in peace.
If you remember, I always maintained, all people in Sri lanka are equal and no one is superior. This is the base and it will not changed. |
