but only lower level rebels will be included in the scheme

This is an important task. Now all OLD mid and high ranks may wanted to become LOWER ranks.

How to identify these ranks clearly may be a difficult work in some cases.

Also, its good if GOSL can extend this amnesty to mid-ranks too, after observing them for some duration.

Turning these people into normal civilians without exposing them for another wave of LTTE propaganda is very very important.

Karuna deserves to be ripped apart limb by limb. He has too run around being the Sinhala's dog, because he knows whats waiting for him if he ever leaves Ceylone. Too bad he wasn't killed UK. I really hope he decides to send his family abroad to Norway or Canada. The Tamil traitors deserve the most painful deaths.

An government official close to the process said the 'mood in Sri Lanka is that of reconciliation. There is no point in trying people with little evidence of wrong doing.'

The approach is very good, GOSL.

You sound very bitter that Karuna helped to get rid of your leader. Just think about the damage he has done to you and your race. Then you will praise Karuna's contribution. Just think how much money you lost for nothng

Karuna didnt split for money only. There was a discrimination against him and east Tamils from VP. VP must take the responsibility for that situation. Blame him first.

From the other hand, MR showed a good control and balance while he is directing the war. He gained more people and lost almost no one. Few SLA ranks helped LTTE just for money and they will get the result for what they did. SF said no any mercy for them.
