Implementing 13 amendment or anything on that line will not resolve any thing, for example will the problems of tamils(more than 60%) will be resolved by giving powers to provinces?
only solution is to have a more accommodating powerful central govt which represents all!

if anyone could find minister karuna's interview about 3 months ago..would be a gem..he had the right vision about this change..in brief.he said..no need of this 13 amendment or anything..just the right representation from ppl and developments will solve the problem.

Thanks to all on your answers on the monks.
However, contesting in elections are fundamentally against the 'should be' behavior of monks

That is what I think too.

But, advising politicians is always correct, as its a part of Buddhist culture, to advise rulers to conduct the administration in correct way.

But that advice may not suit people of other religion.

If you check, 100s of elderly people, ladies, and kids, were supported by SLA in the late stage of the war, due to the combination of this Buddhist factor and inherent discipline of the army.

Others have a different view on this, I wont dig this as it will not help with the reconciliation.

Sinhalese like it. That is the solution for the so called ethnic solution.
If Tamils don't like it is not my problem. We give some thing that we think suitable.
We are playing fairly.

It is already part of the constitution. It is a problem not to practise what is on it.

There is no threat to the unity of the country. President can desolve even a elected PC.

Do you think sri lanka has too many Bhuddist monks per bhuddist population. Often I have seen too many monks here and there. Also are these monks productive to the society and economy or are they just charity receivers ?

Another issue I found is, on government buses there are special seats for all Priests ( yes i know for all religious priests). If they are priests who is there to help the general population then they should stand on the bus and travel.
