Captain Ali`s fate to be decided

June 24, 2009 10:29 am

The Indian Central Government will take a decision today (June 24) on the MV Captain Ali - a ship which is on a mercy mission to Sri Lanka. A high level delegation of Sri Lankan officials will be meeting External Affairs Minister S M Krishna later today. A decision is expected to be taken after that meeting.

MV Captain Ali is a ship that is carrying around 884 tonnes of aid including food, medicine and other relief materials for internally displaced Sri Lankan Tamils. The Sri Lankan government has accused the NGO sending the aid of helping the LTTE and hence has sent back the relief ship.

The ship was turned away by Lankan Navy after which it anchored off the coast of Chennai. The MV Captain Ali was sent to Vanni by an NGO called `ACT Now`, which is a strong representative of the Tamil diaspora.

Ship moves out of Indian waters

Humanitarian ship M V Captain Ali', carrying relief materials for the internally displaced people in Sri Lanka has now moved out of Indian waters and is currently anchored in international waters.

Port authorities said the ship was given 200 litres of fresh water on Sunday, after the ship had run out of water and two of the 13 crew members reported sick. Following this, the port sent water and food supplies to the crew.

The ship had arrived in Chennai last week, after it was turned away by the Sri Lankan navy and not allowed to unload its relief materials in the island nation. Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi had written to external affairs minister S M Krishna to mediate in the issue and persuade the Sri Lankan government to let the ship unload the relief materials.

Once I asked the Q from Chennai madayan, what will the Indian gov. do if any of such ships enters Indian waters illegally in the guise of helping tsunami victims....the bugger was avoiding the Q and was running around the bush.....

:))))))

When I kept asking, finally the bugger said India doesn't need b'cos they can handle..and I too said we can handle our own and no need of such help....

And thereafter this moron started attacking me in every corner...

ha.ha.ha.ha..
