Stephanjones,
A totally objectionable post. I've heard Puttalam described as the armpit of the world by somebody who worked there for an NGO.
NGO's has done the damage to lankan conflict...they love to bring IDPL issues for there benefit.
I have visited three camps in Puttalam this April...people are working for lesser wages than outsiders as they receive benefits from government....they owe vehicles tractors etc...while living from doll.
Muslim politicians use them as a vote base....young people who are born there reluctant to go back...but most elderly will to return to Jaffna.
some day soon they have to vacate this place....not by force but automatically to places where they came from.

NGOs helped LTTE bring explosives to Cbo.
by Norman Palihawadena
Police investigations have revealed that several Non-Governmental Organizations had helped the LTTE transport explosives to Colombo. A special Police team is working on this suspicion and some members of the NGOs are likely to be arrested.
Investigations carried out in connection with the attempted assassination of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa revealed the explosives had been transported in a false fuel tank of a vehicle and packed into a three wheeler in Colombo which was exploded at the Pittala Junction targeting Defence Secretary s convoy.
The main suspect in this incident is under interrogation under detention orders for more details on NGO involvement in the transport of explosives. |

Iross,
Please try and get more people into LNP, otherwise it seems to just one sided argument. We need more people here from all backgrounds.
As I see you are new to the forum, or may be you are a returnee.
Anyway, your fact is correct, to establish some healthy dialog, you need few more people.
That is not to push-forward what LTTE tried, but what Tamils feel about own situation. Also, thats not necessarily to talk and argue with Sinhalese on extreme political issues alway.
We all can talk about common topics too, such as how people voted, what are the common issues in IDP camps, cultural issues, etc. Anyway, I see you are doing good with facing all these tough words to hang around. You must have some object to do so. |
