You can say that to Africa.
Not only China, all western countries did the same,...
But, Chinese connection for Sri Lanka is not that risky as you think. Generally, Sri Lanka is not a huge natural resource spot to satisfy Chinese demand. Its mostly due to political interests and old friendship. Yes, the Indian card is there,..but Sri Lanka will always manage the balance.
SL did well, when it faced the deadly war with LTTE.
Also, its good to see that SL is doing best among all south Asian countries to maintain a good relationship with all and also with China, Russia, and Japan. |
