Sri Lanka is expected to receive a US $ 2.5 billion loan from the International Monitory Fund (IMF) this month, a top Central Bank official told Daily Mirror on condition of anonymity.
The question is WHEN ?
they have been telling this for the LAST 3 Months whenever Stock market is abt to crash land !
While FIIs have smartly taken out money from the Stock exchanges, Moda Bandas invest with all their life time earnings & they are in for a nice Mahinda Chinthanya ride of their life !

1st the international aid orgs like ICRC, UNHCR, Oxfam need unrestricted access. Then Diaspora will help rebuild war torn areas
Make no mistake, we don't need any involvement of stinking Eelamish diaspora to build our country back. All the land stolen by LTTE and Eelamist will be given to their original landowners. All the illegal structures including terrorists memorials will be demolishes beyond a trace. Any Eelamist who try to be stupid again will be sent to their birth place, the cesspit. |

Africa is not developing because they get free money and loans.
LTTE cornered Sri Lanka. Some how they came out of it.
Sri Lanka should go through the same experience with money too. So, I am happy if they did not get the loan.
IMF should get money from member states to release money. Member States will not release money until June. They are still reorganizing their Banking systems and rewriting the international rule books for banks. Edited By - AnuD - 17 Jun 2009 15:46:17 GMT |

Sri Lanka 12-month yield down
http://www.lankabusinessonline.com/fullstory.php?nid=1796175319
June 17, 2009 (LBO) Treasury bill yields edged down and the government sold more than the offered volume at an auction Wednesday, a day after the Central Bank cut rates by 50 basis points, the debt office said.
The 12-month yield plummeted 79 basis points to 12.60 percent.
The 3-month yield fell 05 basis points to 11.56 percent and the 6-month yield fell 09 basis points.
The moment first tranche of the IMF loan is disbursed, the bill yields will plummet atleast by another 400 basis points..
Sri Lankans will be able to get bank loans for single digit interest rates after so many years of high interest rates.. |

Anu Dumbo,
The best SOLUTION is sinhalize all of them. What people need is to live in peace.
Do you think that just sinhalize them will do ?
Why not go one step further & convert every one to Sinhala Buddhists as most of the Sinhalese traitors are christians !
*wink*

Yarlan
You have a very valid point about national reconciliation and hats off to you for your attitude.
These loosy goosy outfits by diaspora will help them spend their leisure time in an activity which will help their easily bruised egos. They will not lead to a la la land called ealam nor would they help uplift tamils in SL. Frankly, these diaspora chaps were never interested in Tamils in SL but were ONLY interested in their investment in the LTTE and its coward leader (who did not even put up a fight but was hiding under first skirts and then under water like a kasippu mudalali)
The problem with diaspora is that they always over estimated their ability
they over estimated their ability to lobby foreign governments. But they failed to get even a meeting with politicians
They over estimated their support base in tamil Nadu but TN people overwhelmingly rejected parties that were sympathetic towards the diaspora (lost) cause. I mean Vaiko even lost his own seat! LOL
They over estimated their strength in getting the attention of institutions such as the UN, IMF etc and even after several self-molestations they did not even talk to them
They over estimated their ability to change the world opinion with protests and hooliganism in major cities and ended up getting beaten by the Police
They over estimated the ability to hoodwink people with bogus fast unto deaths and no body gave a hoot. Finally that fast unto death guy gave it up like a mouse (after setting a world record of 28 days no food of course)
LOL... the liest goes on....
Now they are talking about some transitional loosy goosy outfit ...
Keep us entertained guys.
Ultimately Tamils in SL will only be taken care of by the GOSL. Tamil diaspora can consider continuing their self molestation activities |

I think only a handful of Buddhists are left in Sri Lanka.
Because most of the Buddhists have Christian values. That is do all sins through out the week. Sunday repent all those what you did. |

I think 'SOME ONE' very influential and important from the world community gave assurance that tamils would get help all the way.
Some how Rajapakse govt worked hard and spoiled it.
