Sinhalese are the only people in the world to call a minoroty as stateless
We don't call the Muslims in SL Stateless, nor the Burghers, nor the Malays....
so it was written in Mahavamsa that Tamils are stateless?
Wow, I have to get a copy of the Mahavamsa, seems like a comic book!

Why Peelamists are loosing every where..? :-((
for us they are losing.
But for them, they are winning.
Because they exploit themselves to earn wealth.
Because of this new Tamil Transgender- govt they will get new contracts to write constitution and do other things. |

This is too much debt to assume on top of the existing debt. It would be more than economic stupidity to tap into the full loan facility. Sri Lanka already owes billions of dollars to the World Bank, ADB, Japan, India, China, Iran, etc. At the current rate of borrowing, SRI LANKANS will never be able to pay off the national debt. Many African countries who borrowed too much ended up drowning in debt. A huge percentage of their revenues went to foreign debt service, leaving little capital aside for developing the local economy.
Sri Lanka should make national reconciliation a top priority. If the correct political steps are taken (by both sides), then many Tamils in the Diaspora who have been in the position of being the 'blind lead by the blind' will jump at helping to rebuild the war-torn areas. There are many wealthy Tamil and Sinhala businessmen and professionals abroad who will be willing to invest in a better future for the country - provided a clear path to the future is provided by the current President. This is the time for him to act. Mahinda Rajapakse has the political capital he needs to make the bald moves needed to take the country forward. IMF should be relied upon for meeting the current economic crisis only (which the entire world faces today).

No... Tamils wrote it themselves that they are stateless!! They could easily have become Sri Lankans, but they got themselves alienated from other Sri Lanakans!! |

It is worth noting my comments from yesterday. I hope not a single member of the Tamil Diaspora with an iota of common sense, devotes his/her time and money to help establish this so-called 'transnational government' in exile. It will not help the Tamils in Sri Lanka to re-build their lives. On the contrary, such an effort by the very people who formed the brain trust of the LTTE will derail the efforts in Sri Lanka for ethnic reconciliation in addition to prolonging the stay of thousands of Vanni refugees in those squalid camps. The foreign poliy and national security interests of US, EU and India will not be affected in any way by the efforts of the Tamil Diaspora. They should have realized it by now.

Even after 30 years of destruction, Tamil political parties do not understand.
Sinhala people are ridiculed if they talk the word SINHALA. they are allowed to say only SRI-LANKAN while Tamil political parties still cater only to Tamils.
The best SOLUTION is sinhalize all of them. What people need is to live in peace. |
