Sri Lanka And India : Both Watch Out?
Jun 14, 2009

A Commentary by L. Jayasooriya

When the Ministry of Youth Development was created in Sri Lanka and the pen that created it was given to the daughter of the minister, it caused me amusement (THAT IS TYPICAL SRI LANKA)

when I saw in the media that Mr. Yasushi Akashi has created peace courses in Japan for youth for which a few LTTE cadres may be eligible it sent a shock wave down my spine (Why Japan NEEDS HARD CORE LTTE CADRES) because we have I understand about 400 hard core LTTE cadres in rehabilitation camps. That number trained in the latest state-of-the-art in making peace and white-washed in peace thereafter would be more than sufficient for Sri Lanka. This training will be effective only on those who have the necessary devotion and dedication to the extent of sacrificing one`s own life. So it is a course tailor made for the LTTE hard core only, in the knowledge that others who are enrolled to provide credibility will drop out or use that time period for any financial benefit it provides.

So why is Mr. Akashi so interested in Sri Lanka? The plain answer is that neither he nor America is interested in Sri Lanka. They are both interested in India who could undercut both of them 2 to 1 in manufactured goods drastically reducing their high standards of living.

They wanted the LTTE to divide Sri Lanka so that they could get the LTTE to first separate Tamil Nadu from the Indian federation and then proceed to destabilize that country till it will cease to be a competitor both for America and for Japan.

They are now working on two fronts. One is the peace course which will not get past the nose of General Sarath Fonseka and the other is the 13th amendment which was militarily imposed on us by India to de-stabilize Sri Lanka so that India could get a foothold to finally annex Sri Lanka which they tried with the IPKF and failed.

Whether India likes it or not the West will one day succeed in separating Tamil Nadu from the Indian federation as a first step in their grand plan. If they succeed in that first step the rest will go like dominos but India blinded by her arrogance and the desire to be the rulers of the Indian ocean which she can never be, unless she annexes Sri Lanka keeps on annoying us with this and that (Asian Tribune)

AnuD,
It was a covert operation by CIA to split India in early 70 s .Not only Tamil Nadu ,but also other states like Kerala , Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Orissa and Arunachalam.
It was bit late when RAW was informed about this, by that time India found itself in a labyrinth in the regional politics.

:)))))))))))))!

This kind of 'commentaries' leave me convinced that foolishness is actually a much bigger threat to countries and to their furutre than terrorism!

After all, Sri Lanka has paid heavy price in the last two decades for the utter foolishness in the preceeding decades! :)))

Anud,
Like it or not, Sri Lanka will not settle down as a singalese budhist country, subjecting its non-singalese and non-budhist minorities to oppression.

It is India vs China in Indian Ocean Region. The rest are just positioning themselves within this equation.

As it happens, US has already positioned themselves on India's side and Japan and Australia will follow where US heads.

Check the link below:

For your information, Annual Malabar wargames is an institutionalized mechansim addressing future conflict (with Chinese) in Indian Ocean region.

It is Sri Lanka that is unfortunately caught in the middle of the game and it is not really in control.

It needs to choose a side or remain atleast neutral, because its future depends on it.

Choosing Indian side primarily means strengthening democracy, pluralism and human rights.
