But they know how to lose 800 MILLION USD on Hedging deal with all MNC banks with the fact that None of the Banks are not willing to fund any of GOSL corporation !

May 29, 2009 (LBO) Lanka IOC, a unit of Indian Oil Corporation said it lost 1.6 billion rupees in the March 2009 quarter against a profit of 890.7 million last year as the firm was hit by adverse oil hedges and taxes.

Managing director Suresh Kumar said two remaining hedging contracts cost the firm more than a billion rupees. The contracts will run out in June and July.


I think it is advisable for you to stop commenting on finacial matters since you are rediculing your self into big proportions in front of a big audience..

When a lion trample a pearl, he will not look at it or bother about it. There is no value for him. If he sees a catch he will run after it and catch it and eat it.

Human lives are valuable to people who value mankind.
Animals are so protective and concern about their own kind. Just imagine how much fuss that crows make when a feather is fallen from one crow.

How much we should concern as human when our kind is suffering. Just imagine your own sisters, mothers brothers relatives are in the same position as those who are in these camps.

Humans are made to be habitat in their own territories in their own homes not in these camps. There is a family institution and privacy in this family institution.

What ever the race that these people belongs they all are in one kind. It is human kind.

Muslim, Tamil Sinhalese - all are in one kind. Who ever who suffer in this kind should be the concern of all who are in this kind.

Are we less than human kind or aren't we better than animals.

People who are blinded with hatredness, will not see the pearl in the lives of humans.

People who are concern about human man kind is not supporters of the Terror Group. They are the people who feels for human suffering as humans.

Why Srilankan Firms are not Efficient like Indian firms ?

They also dont know how to reduce profits by acquiring assets.. hikz..

In Sri Lanka, the accounting students are not taught Chennai's third theory of accounting that relates to effects of buying assets on profits..

My Dear accounts student does not have a REAL hands on approach to accounting technigues that are happenign in corporate Sector !

Paawam...No wonder your SL Firms are having difficulty too..
There is a Proverb in tamil ' Ettu Suraikai Kariku Vudavathu' which means all things theorotical will not help you Practically !

My Dear accounts student does not have a REAL hands on approach to accounting technigues that are happenign in corporate Sector !

I'm familiar with many techniques of manipulating financial statements which is called 'Window Dressing' in corporate world..
But certainly buying assets to reduce profits is not one of them..

certainly buying assets to reduce profits is not one of them..


To give you an example, MY relation had a Profit of abt 5 Lakhs & if he had declared this entire amount as Profit, then he may had to pay abt 1.25 Lakhs as Tax to GOI.

To avoid that Computers were shown to be purchased for abt 3 Lakhs & finally he end up paying only 25,000 INR as tax to GOI.

This is normal procedure that goes on from mid sized companies to big corporates.. IT is a pity that our Acconuts theoretician does not know this !

If he paid less tax, he must have bribed the tax assesor..

Or he does not know a clue about accounting..

I wish the tax assesors of Sri Lanka are as stupid as their Indian counterparts..
