A mammoth task at the risk of his life

Tuesday, 19 May 2009 - 2:31 AM SL Time

[We Trust our president. He will bring Peace and Dignity to every one lives in our county. Every one can be a proud Sri_lankan in very near future. ]

Who will trust the Steering Committe of chauvinist sinhala buddhist clergy who spread venom all across the nation.

I am sorry to say this but the facts are stubborn.

Let`s see how this is going to be proven. Sinhala buddhism DOES NOT ENCOMPASS ALL COMMUNITIES. Thus is the difficulty, to integrate and homogenize their thoughts to depart from the mind frame of a constitutionalized religious supremacy.

Human lives have to be respected with dignity and honour to identify with each others commonality in flesh, blood and limbs. Second comes equal rights etc.. etc..

Those who have an instilled mindset to name the Tamils as Shhhkillyas and Janitors need a change of attitude irrespective of having a heart and mind to do it.

Mahinda the President is now faced with a mammoth task ahead at the risk of his life.

Will he do it against the chauvinist sinhala buddhists???

Answer expected from all concerned about dignity and honour.

Fairplay,
First thing he should do is to summon a constitutional council and amend the constitution getting rid of of all non secular elements and de centralizing powers to provincial councils.

Peace was destroyed by opportunistic politicians like GG Ponnambalam, SWRD Bandaranayake, SJV Chelvanayagam & JR Jayawardena.

This is not going to happen. There is no need also.

Sri Lanka is an old country with long history and traditions.

We are not a new country like USA,Australia Singapore or India.

Norway or UK is also not secular state as they also want to preserve their traditions.

People and Rulers both Sinhalese/Tamils have implemented our traditions through out our 2300yr history.

It is the politician who created this secular BS.

We need to stay ahead of politicians.

Last 2 days the tamils have been threated by the sinahala people.
some have one into tamils people houses and told they have to leave colombo, and hand over the house and transfer the house in their name.
People have been forced to fly Lankan flag and some alos givin the budhits flag.
People are walking into the house and asking the tamils to pay huge sum of money to celebrate.
everything happaning in the presence of the police who are more than 99% sinhala.
Lot of Harasemnet going on at work places,
One of the top tamil guy at a work place recived letter saying he is been transefred to vanni to clean toilets in the army camp.
Colombo kandy neweraliya, ratnapura are worst places.

Each country is different.

Like European countries in Sri Lanka also, traditions are institutionalized. There are very powerful forces in the society to protect those tradition. Like in Europe, if someone try to change that war will break out.

Try to understand.

In Sri Lanka the problem is not the religion. Blaming religions is a political spin.

Poverty and social injustices due to caste are the real problems.

These are lies spread by disgruntled diaspora.

Vast majority knows the importance of reconciliation in Sri Lanka.

Political parties also know the importance of Tamil votes in future elections.
