Eight months old Nidu Mihara Kethaki Peiris of No. 168/1B, Sarasavi Uyana Mawatha Wewelduwa, Kelaniya is suffering from an acute heart ailment that requires an urgent surgery to save her life. Her father Sriyan Dhammika Peiris said that Nidu underwent heart surgery when she was just three days old. However it was a temporary remedy. Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon of the Apollo Hospitals, Colombo Dr. Tolusha Harischandra who examined Nidu has recommended immediate heart surgery as a permanent cure.

The expense of the surgery costs more than 600,000 is not within the reach of Nidu`s parents. The father has made a request to President Mahinda Rajapakse to meet a part of the expense from the Presidential fund. He requests the donors for assistance to supplement the expected donation from the Presidential fund.
