Sri Lankan troops advancing east have captured the last supply route and gained control of an LTTE built earth bund on Saturday (28) following hours of intense fighting that killed 9 Tigers and wounded another 11, the military said today.

Troops of Army`s 53 Division and Task Force - 8 advancing further East from Puthukkudyiruppu have captured the LTTE supply line stretching towards Iranapalai, the Defence Ministry said.

The capture of the last LTTE supply route will further thwart the Tigers` movement and logistic supply, according to the defence officials.

Meanwhile troops of 55 Division have gained control of an LTTE built earth bund constructed north of Palamattalam yesterday killing at least 8 Tigers and injuring another 17 in a fierce battle, the military reported.

The military says the LTTE Tigers now cornered in an area of just 21 sq km that includes the government declared 20 sq km no-fire zone (NFZ) are continuously mounting heavy artillery and mortar attacks from the NFZ.

From where to where this supply route was running..?

According to SLA, now LTTE is trapped in a small land pocket. I dont think, LTTE is having any practical use of 'SUPPLY ROUTES'.

They may just manage things what they have or may have a big hidden stockpile of supplies in this small area.

The Government needs to be more pro active about a cease-fire - in recognition of its own atrocities. Otherwise this is just an interval before the next attack probably outside the war zone.

So to transport those stockpiles to the terrorists, you have to use a 'route' and that is called a 'supply route'...

Isn't it so...Jungle or a main road if they are using this path to supply weapons continuously then it will be a supply route!

Simple!

Surprise about your anology...!

I thought when LTTE pocketed into a small land area, they have no any physical access to and from...!

If they have, SLA can take the other side of the supply origin easily than hitting the center.

May be, this is another achievement of land by SLA.
