why do jump to conclusions.
If SF sides with TNA,JVP or RW to caretaker government..that seals off MR's second term.
Voters are not that dumb...they feel the dividends of peace in real time.
I am a bit confused here..
Are you saying SF is goig to side with MR..
Or are you saying there is a third group that SF can side with outside UNP, TNA, SLMC, JVP. MAno Gane, Mangala group..
Am I so dumb that I dont get this.. |

Yes DAmed..
I prefer if SF can come as the common candidate of all those RW, Hakeem, TNA, jocker JVPers etc, all rejected stuff.
After SF talk once or twice in public or after 1-2 media briefs AWaMangala will to get those 150+lunch+kassippu glass type supportes in bus loads to listen to him.
Even moderate UNPers will not support SF. (RW ge vote ekath MR ta)
My guess is he will poll below 40%.
Ellenna wal nathi some JVPers and UNPers will support him.hakkem . and other small fractions has no big impact.
SF being CC, MR's victory is ensured |

That says the party support to Gen SF.. Even I'm sure RW anna too pondering whether to field Gen SF or not after that change of the resignation letter....

Vote for MR is a vote for Nepotism,Corruption,Mismanagement,Jumbo Cabinet and approval for suppression media freedom and human rights. If anyone can dispute, the above mentioned non-exist in sri lanka, I shall be his slave. All the consecutive government of sri lanka had all what I have aforementioned but not to the level of current government. This is 'daylight' robbery of public wealth.
Why does Mahinda Rajapakse wants to go for a presidential election? He has full 2 years to stay in the office. Within this 2years he could show the people the developments he has made beside the war victory. He knows for sure, he could not do any progress in the country because the economy is cracking, the crumbling bits and pieces are falling. Economy is heading for collapse. Two years to stay in office will be too long as the economy collapse his popularity too will collapse. He thought of using the loophole of the constitution. He dont mind keeping 2 Election within a short span of 3 months because he is not spending his fathers money, he is spending public fund. This government has shown no respect for the public fund while the entire nation suffering for lack of fund. He did keep provincial election every month to capitalise on war victory. On the other hand Mr.Sarath Fonseka a desciplined soldier. He won the war that was messed by several generals before him. He rescued the innocent tamils who were trapped by LTTE terrorist. He is not so corrupt like the MR family. He is new to the politics and he can bring new ideas and new people. We have no doubt he is a good general and the majority will not doubt he will be a good 'President'. My vote for Sarath. |

That is exactly what RW is planning to do..
A group of UNP front-liners have planned to pressurise the newly formed United National Front (UNF) leadership to field UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as the common Presidential candidate after making arrangements for General Sarath Fonseka also to contest on the ticket of another party, UNP sources revealed.
The main reason for this surprise move, according to these sources is the belief that it would be easier to defeat President Mahinda Rajapaksa by splitting the Sinhala vote in a three-cornered fight rather than in a straight contest.
This is the same reason why JVP says SF will be their candidate and they are not going to talk to UNP about it.. |

As I said before SF has to come out with his possition...but most jump to side him with UNP,JVP,TNA and other opposition..if it's going to happen..as you said,even die hard UNP's will not vote SF.
As some here sound it out,Opposition to MR as Dumbs and traitors can there be a election or a dialoge..?

If anybody needs a change the dirty politics in sri lanka,you got to give a try with SF,he is a independent man.
This is a very good opportunity for all of us. we will never get this chance again.
