don't forget that it was Gen JP's leadership salvaged the Jaffna peninsuilar during the Last Vanni debacle which we lost
The above is the truth, no doubt. 100% correct. But, when JP contested PC election on UNP ticket, the same SLFP said he was hiding under a bed during that time. Anurudda Ratwatte said even worse about the late General JP. Now that the JP is dead, SLFP is using his name to discredit SF.
My question is whether SLFP would say the above statement, if JP is contesting election on UNF ticket??? |

Deborak,
All for good reasons. The reasons why the youths (Sinhala and Tamil) took to arms still exist. But, we cannot improve the situation by electing people who just want the executive presidency for the power and perks it provides.
We need true statesmen and capable people who will run a clean government - a government for the people and by the people. Not politicians and their extended family members as political appointees in every nook and corner of the ministries and even in foreign service. But, that day has not come. Not yet anyway. This UNP-JVP-SF partnership is nothing new. Just a political gamesmanship to hoodwink the people for another four years. Until that time comes, Sri Lanka needs political stability more than anything else. If people really need to know what I mean by this, I suggest taking few trips around the island - at least hundred miles away from Colombo.

I am glad some members are using sundayleader articles to prove their points. But then why its editor was killed??? Does that mean the articles he wrote about the junta were all correct and he was killed because they were damaging.
If one goes through the sundayleader archives, they will see a lot of articles which speaks volums of junta's wrong doings.
Please use those articles also not just a selected few.
Kabaragoya, talagoya game is the best game junta plays. |
