i would say Gilcrist was the best for bringing excitement to the game, his sense of fair play and also his skill in dominating opposition / winning matches when the match was in the balance.
Warne and Murali are close 2nd and 3rd, Ponting was also brilliant

| I will vote for Sanath simply because he invented the pinch hitting at the beginning of the one day game. Murali is a great cricketer, but for changing the way the one day game being played my vote will go for Sanath. |

Pawan,,, i'm not against Sana...
but,,, when you call it 'player of the decade' in general,, not specifically ODIs,,,, you have to take the performance in both traditional formats into account ,,, this is where Murali, Kallis and Ponting prevail...... they have almost well-balanced excellent fixtures in both formats...... whereas Sana has excellent fixtures in ODIs and average in tests....
same applicable to Ferro.... on Gilly.... Gilly is excellent in ODIs,,, but not Tests...... Edited By - Ramz - 3 Nov 2009 12:56:09 GMT |

| Sanath for revolutionizing the power play. ICC even went on adding more power plays. Sanath completely changed the limited over game. We may not even have the current 20/20 if not for hard hitting power play excitement. Sanath and Kalu changed the nature of the game that existed 100's of years. |
