A Government with 110 ministers is a Chinese circus, not an efficient Govt, it shows the weakness of the leader and the party.
Why a small country needs 110 ministers to run the country?
I am not a pro-UNP ..... MR needs to cut the cabinet size or pass the Govt to UNP, simple as that.
Hanging on power with 110 ministers is a disgrace and disservice to the country.

Idiot P Ranil and UNP are the reason for all this. Changing the constitution in 1978 has led us to this pathetic situation. Then P Ranil was a Minister/MP and voted in favor of the change. |

I was expecting Ponil and MAN-gala to say something about Gen. Fonseka today. They must be waiting for him to return to the country.

The new Inspector General of Police DIG Mahinda Balasuriya assumed duties today at a function held in the Police Headquarters in York Street. Seen in the picture is the new IGP saluting to a Guard of Honor by the police force during the ceremony
What is your view about this appointment?
Would Balasuriya be able to revamp the ill fated Police department?
I am sure Mahinda should have elected a very suitable person. |

Mahinda's duty is over as he finished up the WAR,,, his men are below zero in administration, finance and economy,,, at best in corruption...
from 19th May 2009 ,,,, nothing happened in SL except elections....
it is time for MR to correct himself and his administration... or pack the things ......
i'm away from political issues..... hate politicians too...... but have to highlight the truth....... disappointed with current situation...... |

Some of you have voiced very valid comments...the govt has to get its act together time is indeed running thin though for the time being its on top...
as for roshan on mahinda balasooriyas appointment as IG id say not the best of choices but nonetheless lets give the man some time to prove me wrong.
mr balasooriya will have to work over time to bring the police dept to some dignity from the depths it has fallen.today the police is easily the most inefficient most corrupt and the most abusive state arm and thus the most despicable. |
