The Commander in chief is responsible for the war victory

Tuesday, 3 November 2009 - 1:23 PM SL Time

It was MR who gave the green light to wage war against LTTE after he weighted advice from different experts.

It was MR who provided all the necessary political leadership to carry out the war against LTTE.

It was MR who provided the financial backing to the Sri Lanka Armed forces, something that was not done in the history of the civil war.

It was MR who recruited the correct people to prosecute the war against LTTE.

in retrospective: CBK took the blame for loss of EP/Kilinochchi/Mulativu/Jayasikuru operation. She took the blame for not prosecuting the war and the loss of life. Her commanders have since retired and now enjoying life, they did not take the blame, it was the commander in chief who took the blame.

Without clear political leadership, anti-LTTE operation would have stalemated like the Vadamarachchi operation in 1986-87...

So therefore MR should be responsible for the defeat of LTTE and the trimmings that come with it. The Armed forces should be honored for the display of valor and persistence against the enemy.

General Sarath Fonsaka carried an all important aspect of the operation but he was only one part of the puzzle. Let us not forget there was a huge international force pressuring the government economically/politically and internally. All these opponents needed different solutions. I do not thing the revered general could have single handily won the war without the help given by many in the other branches of the forces such as the Navy and Air Force.

Dear General Fonseka, the nation in eternal debt for your services, its history will be full of colorful passages described about you and your achievements. Remember the word Eternal. Jump in to the muddy business of politics and you too would become a political slime bag. MR has gotten up to the top by extreme patience, he sacrificed himself for CBK and led a marginal life for 15 years before it was his chance. Look at SB, Karu, Ranil, all wanna be presidents who are worse than bulls in ester trying to poke at anything they see....

Do not fall victim to these forces as you are much above this. Have some patience, the next election needs 2/3 majority to bring a new constitution with stability to the country, the old ways.

Take care General

Nice post ST aiya... my opinion is he should not come to the political business and should not follow the bankrupt politicians you mentioned.

If he really needs to come in come as an independent candidate in the general election with some of his trusted colleagues, probably from Clombo district or Galle district.

Start slow and make the grounds for the big post....

But still I prefer if he can stay out of politics... everyone is not capable of doing politics...

Genral Fonseka together with MR and GF flushed your peelam hope in to the toilet pit...

Where is Poopulle and Charles Anthoney...? Did they attain peelam in the Nanthikadal lagoon?

Robins, gota is going to auction Poopulle's Amude in ebay. Go and buy it and worship three times a day...

Don't forget to refresh ebay three times when you bid for it.. OKkkkk...

I heard during the second world war, one poor fire-fighting company owner who had only a small truck without brakes broke into a big fire, say in Colombo, had to give the same explanation, when he was asked how did you do that ?

His explanation was I had only one truck, it did not have any brakes, and truck was stopped only inside the fire.

From Island.lk

Rajapaksa told The Island that General Fonseka, who was in the US on a brief visit had alerted him last Friday (October 30) to the US move. A US government official had contacted Gen. Fonseka on Wednesday (October 28) and informed him that there was a requirement to interview regarding the Defence Minister in connection with alleged human rights violations during the war against the LTTE.

SF was informed on this requirement interview on Oct. 28, yet Gota was notified by SF only on 30th. Why?
As a top notch General SF should have read the plot at once.

28th USA means 29th Sri Lanka.

Agreed.

Now to Cricket -

Bad delivery say 'full toss on off stump or just out side off'.

If the batter cant put that over the fence for a six or at least for a four whats the use?

See the yanks, they got the stuff, best of the best...still cant do sh*t. Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq...etc

You need equipment and the support but at the end of the day when it comes to the crunch SF had to deliver.

IMHO he did.

Actually he took about half a day figuring out what this whole thing was about.

some homeland security officials wanted to know if General Sarath Fonseka was involved in Human rights violation since it is a question that is common in Green card documentation.

The question that was quite off handed was that when they asked if the General knew of any violations involving the defense minister. This was dumb/stupid fishing expedition with no goal but they have to realise they are asking questions from the CDS of Sri Lanka.

US forgot we wiped out an organization that was 10 times more powerful than the Taliban or Al Quida.

US seems to think LTTE was fighting Sri Lanka with a few bamboo poles, and banana boats. They think Sri Lanka army just tickled LTTE in the anus so surrendering. They think SLA killed hapless people who were held against their will by LTTE.

all this bow pow is because some Tamil Terrorist fundraiser is tickling Democrats Big banana and two tik boleys. And now they like a pulli gona running in circles.

Say, you travel from Colombo to Jaffna by a luxury bus,

After reaching Jaffna,

The bus tyres say because we (tyres) were in good condition you had a safe journey,

then the engine says that because of the engine was good, you reached Jaffna,

that is also true,

then the driver says, because of me you reached Jaffna,

that is also true.

then the bus owner says I gave enough money to buy diesel and so, because of that you reached Jaffna,

that is also true.

But end of the day, we normally thank the driver.

Who was the military driver who fought the war without deserting even for a day, that was definitely SF, nobody else.
