JVP has ruled out a union with the alliance of opposition parties that is to be formed next month.
Speaking to `Lankatruth` website, propaganda secretary of the party Vijitha Herath has turned down an invitation to join the United National Alliance.
UNP general secretary Tissa Attanayake, extending the invitation, said he saw no hurdle against the JVP`s joining the alliance as both had the abolition of the executive presidency as a key policy objective.
However, Mr. Herath said the UNA, led by the UNP, was to be formed for a different political agenda targeting the general election.
Still, the JVP could unite with a broad front of democratic forces that agree to abolish executive presidency, he added.
