| | Policeman involved in killing a man in public Friday, 30 October 2009 - 1:36 PM SL Time | | | The policeman directly involved in the attack on a man in Bambalapitiya yesterday which led to his drowning, will be taken into police custody, Spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwaka said. The body of the man that was swept out by the sea, was found a short while ago.
Speaking to Daily Mirror online the Senior DIG said that it had been brought to light that one of the men directly involved in the attack was a policeman attached to the Bambalapitiya police station, who had not been in uniform at the time.
The DIG Mediwaka said that the policeman had been aided in his attack by others, but said that CCD investigations into the incident would soon determine the identities of those responsible, and they would be brought before the law.
Dismissing reports that the involved policeman was currently evading the law and in hiding, the police spokesman said that even if it were true, action would still be taken against the officer. (RR)

| Sri Lankan Police is known world wide for torture and cold blooded murder. Canada will not even give visit visa if a person served in SL police. |

By sabotaging the Independent Police Commission, the Rajapakses have ensured that there will be no justice for these victims.
I hate the bloody cops, including the traffic cops.
Pannacotta,
You can hate them as much as you like, but as long as the Rajapakses are there they will become more brazenly violent. This is what is meant by 'the culture of impunity'.

hikz, the tendency of the shifting of tectonic plates is getting higher and higher. once recently it moved Anuradhapura to Colombo some miles in 100s, now Cuba to Canada miles in 1000s. |

Shame Shame Shame
Again this proves a country without a competent leader who is capable of providing equal security to the common man.
Locking up the educated who question their rights and letting lose the uneducated (Ata Pass) dogs .
If the mentally retarded victim was given due support and medical attention that is rightfully due from the sate this situation would have never occurred ./ but the state is busy taking care of there own retards |
