Isipatana `A` win Cup Championship

The Ten-a-side All Island Inter-schools Under-12 Rugby Tournament was completed yesterday at Royal College Sports Complex with Isipatana College `A` winning Cup Championship. The tournament attracted 28 teams from all parts of the country and they played in eight groups.
Wesley College took away the Plate Championship beating Isipatana College `B` 7-0. Bowl Championship was won by Mahanama College defeating Dudley Senanayake MV, Colombo 28-0, while Vidyartha College, Kandy went away with the Shield Championship when they trounced Lalith Athulathmudali MV, Mount-Lavinia 7-0.
The tournament was sponsored by Nestle Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association.
Results:
Cup Champions: Isipatana `A` beat Trinity `A` 14-0.
Plate Champions: Wesley beat Isipatana `B` 7-0.
Bowl Champions: Mahanama beat Dudley Senanayake, Colombo 28-0.
Shield Champions: Vidyartha beat Lalith Athulathmudali MV 7-0.

A rugby trophy for Isipatana after a long time.
Those days, they were one of the 'firsts' to win all schools rugby trophies on offer.
