CPC hopes for resolution to petrol crisis by tomorrow
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is hopeful that the distribution of petrol supplies will be back to normal by tomorrow with a resolution to the ongoing dispute with trade unions expected to be reached soon.
Chairman of the CPC Major General Thoradeniya speaking to Daily Mirror online said that the strike action by the unions had disrupted distribution services, especially yesterday, but said that in spite of this there was no shortage of diesel anywhere and that petrol was still available at certain filling stations.
The Chairman said that ongoing dialogue with the Ceylon Petroleum Storage and Terminal Ltd - that is responsible for distribution - would prove to be fruitful as the CPC was engaged in positive discussions on the matter and said that some of the striking workers had already reported to work today.
Accordingly CPC Chairman Major General Thoradeniya said that he was hopeful that supply distribution would go back to normal by tomorrow afternoon at the very latest.
Meanwhile sections of the Lanka Indian Oil Company have also decide to take up work for rule strike action beginning today and sources say that fuel tankers at theLanka IOC storage yard in China Bay, Trincomalee have not been filled, disrupting fuel supplies to the area.

Mr. Thoradeniya also may be without fuel in is (official )car.
Unless he did a small tour out from the city to any direction (Galle Rd, Negambo Rd, High or Low Level Rd.) he could have check the availability of fuel.
Vehicle owners may have had a meeting at fuel stations for a friendly chat during the weekend !

This is a curse to the country. How many strikes in an year irrespective of politics?
JR was the bravest leader in this regard who taught a historical lesson to those donkeys.
That is why many UNPers love him.
