Who Said
'Will bring Rice even from the MOON and give to the Voters '
1970 SLFP & UF
'Will give the Bread @ 3.50 '
1994 SLFP & UPA
We heard that 1952 JR as finance Minister has increased the Price of Rice by 25 cents and PM Dudley has to resign.
After 1965 Dudley started the Food Production program, but officials took him for a ride.
1977 they build the agricultural infrastructure with accelerate Mahaweli in addition to energy/power. But no proper follow up was done. Buildings were done as paddy stores etc in mahaweli area were sold to mudalalies in 1990's.
Now the hard working farmers from the North also there if proper incentives and acceptance given to the agriculture sector finding employment in Sri Lanka is not difficult.

| Contribution of Agriculture to the GDP is around 10-15% only. Therefore, Sri Lanka should try to develop Small and Medium scale Industrial Sector. |
