Dr. Dr Wijaya Godakumbura - Vote for Him

A BRIGHT IDEA

He is Dr. Wijaya Godakumbura.

He came out with a simple idea to replace the traditional bottle lamp used in poor Sri Lankan homes with a safe lamp which does not turn over and catch fire.

He has silently carried out this mission and have so far handed over 775,000 units to save twice the number with possible burns and loss of life.

We should be proud of him as he is now being short listed amongst 12 finalists to be voted for the coveted BBC World Challenge 2009, organized by BBC, Newsweek and Shell.

Attached is a flyer giving all the required info, including the link for on line voting.

Kindly pass this message to as many colleagues, friends and relations in Sri Lanka and overseas, and get as many votes as possible, to make this project the winner. If he wins, another section of poor people back home and will win the right to live safely.

Many of you have not experinced bottle lamb life , every tamils was forced to live with bottle lambs because sinhala nazi governemnt disconnected the electricity and fuel was bared from getting to our place. some brave fisherman risked their lived to get fuel from india and they sell at very high price. some time petrols sold at Rs 2500 per litre , many tamils started to run their moter bike on keresine oil.
they use petrol to start their motor bike and then it ran on keresine oil.
therefore keresine oil price went up so much.
in houses lambs replaced with coconut oil. that pushed the coconut oil price.
people had made home made lambs.
with tea spoon of oil them burn a lamp for one hour. if you want to know how

in a jam bottle we filled half water and to the top we filled coconut oil and put a little wool on top. this is how we were all forced to live by sinhala nazis.
almost all dispora tamils experince this this is why they wont give up.
