He is too fat. In another 10 years, he will have diabetes and cholesterol problems. Probably, too much stress. So, eats a lot.

If Football in the country has developed to this much extent, it is due to the untiring efforts of Manilal Fernando.

Salute to the man!

News related to the subject topic.....

Football s media director blows his top

The media director of the Football Federation of the Sri Lanka Rukmal Perera yesterday abused photographers in foul language after inviting them to cover the commissioning of a new venue by Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa at Slave Island.

In a high-handed act unbecoming of his post, Perera ordered the photographers out of their vantage point saying their desire for close-up shots of the ceremony endangered his position in the Football Federation.

One photographer however gave the jittery media director a bellyful and left.

The commissioning of the new venue coincided with the visit of Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed Bim Hammam.

I had seen him 15 years ago. He was like that fat.
Probably a qualification to be a politician.

Mr. Manilal Fernando is also the chairman of the Puttalam Cement (Holcim cement) and doing a great job for development of the Football in Sri Lanka. I remember he donate some high quality footballs and a net for our Sports club in Borella when we requested about 6 years ago.
