The Female-Formed Police Unit (FFPU) is a unique Indian contingent of UN peace mission composed of Indian female police officers helps keep the peace in the West African nation of Liberia, devastated by one of Africa`s most bloody civil wars.
This war has left more than 2,00,000 people dead, thousands scarred by violence and rape, a shattered economy, 85 percent unemployment, and crime on a spectacular scale.
The Indian contingent consists of 125 officers of whom 105 are women from all over India. The men cook, drive and maintain the vehicles. The women help maintain law and order and provide armed backup to the Liberian National Police.

The presence of the all-female Indian Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Liberia has inspired Liberian women to join the Liberia National Police (LNP), Head of the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), Ms. Ellen Ellen Margrethe L j, said when she awarded UN peacekeeping medals to more than 120 Indian police officers in Monrovia.
Commenting on the prevalence of rape and atrocities consistently being committed against Liberian girls and women, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) emphasized that the deployment of the Indian female police officers was reassuring as 'you greatly contribute to the healing that is needed by all Liberians recovering from the civil war and you have shown that women need not be victims, but healers and protectors in the new Liberia'.
Ms.
L j described the professional and community outreach activities of the Indian female police officers as 'symbolic of the policing qualities' they have displayed while serving in Liberia.
Indian formed all female FPU is one of the most spectacular successes in the UN peace missions in the recent history.
The officers are mostly from India's central reserve police force (CRPF).
FFPU in Liberia has imparted a healing touch to law and order tackling in violant Liberia which would not have been possible with a male peace keeping unit. It is amazing to note that they have created little resentment and resistance among the local popualtion
Using all female force to maintain peace looks like a winner!
The special operations part is dedicated to Imperator! :)))

ML,
Who said they were not? Now you too started to make too much assumptions! :))
NSG has females in their ranks. In fact, They are widely being deployed for sky marshal duties to prevent hijacking.
Next time you fly in an Indian airlines, the pretty girl who sits next you might be a NSG commando! :))

And who said I found one after two days? If you had read my post properly, I said that I had seen it on Youtube weeks ago but didn't upload it because I'm not like you, but you ask for it :)))

Good grief, I'm never flying an Indian airline in my life. Bad enough that some totally smart passengers try to open the cabin door mid-flight. Those guys should stick to bullock carts :)))

REading this particular sentence I smell something fishy!!
Frankly NOT OFFENSIVE!
Somewhere I saw an article, the Indian army is going to recruit 'prostitutes' to the army! |
