| | Mahinda &family claim to be the descendants of Duttu Gemunu but the Sinhala Journalist Dushy Ranetunge says Mahinda s ancestors are the Malays who settled in Sampanthotam. The Sinhalese thought they were raising a Chihuahua and it turned out to be a rat . Hambantota, the main city of Hambantota District is located near the 148th mile (238-km) post along the Colombo-Galle-Matara-Tissamaharama highway.
Legend has it the archaic name of Hambantota appears to have been Sampanthurai. This word Sampan is said to have been derived from the Malay word meaning navigators, as the MALAYS, in the olden days were sea-farers who had come in their sailing vessels for barter trade. The word `Thurai` means a port - a Tamil derivation.
Another version, In the legends, `Hamban` is popularly known as an ethnic group called `Malay` or `Muslims` and `thota` means where those groups were landed. The sleepy fishing village of Hambantota (this is the Sinhalese rendition of the Malay words Sampan kota Harbour of small boats the name came from groups of Malays who settled here), a good six hours drive from Colombo. This type of sailing craft was commonly used for ocean navigation. It was quite popular among the Chinese, Malays and Moors who inhabited the Asian region.
Malays are a recognised minority ethnic group in Sri Lanka. Most of them are the descendants of MALAY mercenaries who were brought to Sri Lanka in the 17th century by the Dutch.
Some Javanese convicts were banished to Sri Lanka by the Dutch. The more dangerous convicts were sent from Sri Lanka to Cape Town in South Africa. Being mercenaries, the Malays had always lived close to the centers of colonial power when they were not engaged in military campaigns. The native Lankan population was much more dispersed, and even today, Sri Lanka is not a very much urbanized country. Also the exiles were confined to the centers of colonial power because they had to be under control of the authorities. This urban base distinguishes the Malays from the Sinhalese and Tamils, and to a lesser degree from the Moors.
Except for the Javanese princes who were exiled to Sri Lanka by the Dutch, the Malay soldiers and others did not bring the women folk to Sri Lanka. |

Where do you think Mahinda is from?
Next time you see pictures of Mahinda and his children, take a good look and ask yourself, are these descendants of the Stone Age Vaddahs of Sri Lanka?
What are there physical characteristics? Look at the complexion, eyes etc, consider the fact they are from Hambanthota ( Sampan) and think about it.
Here are some pics for your convenience

Any academic historian will tell you that the Karave, durave and salagama castes of sri lanka are of recent south Indian descent. piggy backed on the Portuguese...

The funny thing is the descendants of these migrants, slaves and colonial house niggers have the audacity to question the indigenous Tamil's claim of ownership of this island. :))))

Thivya,
Can you please be more creative and post something different, instead of the same crap over and over again that does nothing but prove that we're not inbred, unlike some people who marry cousins over centuries?

when trash like UpulJ, Panacotta, Mahasona and other JHU goons stop saying Tamils go back to Tamil Nadu, Muslims go back to Saudi Arabia (and I like the silence of 'moderate' Sinhalese when the racists are at it), Tamils will stop trying to figure out where Sinhalese are from.

Pharoah,
I think the high caste Kandiyan Govigamas have more Telugu connection. In Tirupathi, I saw the Telugu people and noticed the resemblance and physical features were similar to the Sinhala people I saw in Colombo. The word bath for rice also came from Telugu. They have many kind of bath(rice) dishes too.
Rice Dish Recipes
VANGI BATH
Ingredients
1 long purple brinjal(eggplant), cut into large pieces
1 1/2 cup raw rice, washed and cooked such that the
grains of rice remain seperate
5 red chillies
6 peppercorns
1/2 tsp turmeric
4 tbsp ghee(clarified butter)
4 cloves
Salt to taste
1 tsp urad dal
1' cinammon
1 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chillies
1 tsp channa dal
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp oil for frying the masala
1/2 cup sour buttermilk or 2 tsp lemon juice
Procedure
Fry in the 1 tsp oil 4 out of 5 red chillies, turmeric, cloves,
cinammon, cumin, coriander and peppercorns.
Powder them using a coffee grinder and set aside.
Heat the ghee in a pan and add the mustard seeds, red chilli,
green chillies, urad dal and channa dal.
When the seasoning is almost done, add the brinjal pieces
and fry till the brinjal is done.
Now add the buttermilk and mix well.
Add the powdered masala and mix.
Add salt to taste.
Bring to a boil and remove.

I think Mahasona genuinely means it, but I don't think the other guys do. However, if anyone does it again, I shall ask them to refrain, like I've done previously.
Thivs,

VANGI BATH...
My goodness, that's a huge recipe! It's far simpler for you to just get a Big Mac. Go to the local Maccas' and tell them you're on hunger strike. They'll give you an extra large meal on the spot :))
BTW how is your Malayali Catholic leader? :)) |

Imperator,
I will stop when you stop badmouthing the Tamils who have more rights to claim homeland in Sri Lanka than you and your ancestors.
Everyone knows that the Sinhala racist government is spending millions of foreign aid dollars to wage a war against the Tamil Diaspora. This 'bigmac' story is part of the Sinhala propaganda campaign against Tamil Diaspora. But at the end, it won't achieve anything and nothing will change the Tamil Diaspora stance on the concept of Eelam Tamil Homeland.
This Sinhala propaganda war will unite and strengthen the Tamil Diaspora even further. The Western politicians are supporting the Tamil Diaspora not because of the Tamil protests and hunger strikes but their block voting strength only.
