I belong to the Tamil race, The race of people refused to let the Singhalese to have a unitary Buddhist country for more than 2000 years. Sri Lanka has never been united or integrated in her long history because of our Tamil forefathers always maintained their distinct identity and defended our homeland from the marauding Sinhala barbarians.
You might say, Jaffna was under Sinhala rule during the reign of Sappumala kumraya but he was a Tamil named Senpaka Perumal. That's why the Tamils didn't revolt against him. :)))
