Taking cured and treacle when visiting family and friends is an age old tradition in Sri Lanka.
That is not the tradition of Tamils. See we have different customs and culture in the same island. The Thayir(curd)used in the Hindu funeral rites or 31st day remembrance ceremony and people won't take that when they visit other people's homes first time. :)))
Learn the Tamil's custom first before imposing the Sinhala customs on us.
