Army moving into Elepahnt Pass as Tigers begin withdrawal
Jan 6 (TC) The Sri Lankan armed forces have started moving into the Aanai Iravu or Elephant pass region as the LTTE commenced withdrawing from the area. Soldiers of the 58 division commanded by Brig. Shavendra Silva began moving towards Elephant pass from two directions. One column proceeded along the axis of the Jaffna Kandy road known as A 9 highway from a place called Umaiyaalpuram , north of Paranthan

Military and Human Rights conventions allow for the safe withdrawal of combatants in the face of enemy advances, however, the SLA did not adhere to these conventions and indiscriminately fired on the withdrawing guerrillas.

no army would let enemy withdraw without unleashing their weapons on em...
and look whos talking about conventions...
the morons have gone against every bloody convention and now crying that sldf is not allowing them to withdraw peacefully
