KOCHI: As the Lankan forces entered the Tamil-Tiger strongholds in northern Lanka scattering away the rebels, Kerala s marine security agencies fear a large number of suspected LTTE cadres have infiltrated the Indian shore via trawlers to discreetly engage themselves as workers in fishing trawlers off Kochi coast.
Senior officials at the Coastal Base Station in Fort Kochi responsible in patrolling the Indian waters up to 22 nautical miles, said they had come across Indian trawlers with some of them, including women, speaking a Tamil dialect similar to that spoken in Sri Lanka.
Recently, we have spotted more such workers being employed in the trawlers off Kochi coast, marine security sources said. Often they fail to produce documents to prove their identity. The officials said the owners of the trawlers employ them without checking their antecedents as these labourers come cheap. |

Aussieboy, we have spoken before on this topic I assume. I like you because you say it as you see it.
But, sadly my experiences have been different. I simply do believe that the Tamils need LTTE. That is their belief.
I unfortunately cannot change that because of things like 83 and 58 and all historical blunders. Also my life in Sydney for over 10 yrs taught me well. Both from Singhalese and Tamils...I moved to NZ for many reasons which are personal but my kids will grow up without hatred against any particular community. |

The Army officers and soldiers who marched into the town early Friday were shocked to discover that asbestos roofs, doors, windows and all conceivable fittings of every house and establishment in the town had been ripped apart and carted away.
Tigers have taken everything for safekeeping. |

Kiwilankan,
[You are in Melb]
I live in Sydney. Two of my children live in Melbourne and hence my visits and stay there.
[and you should go to one of the SPUR gatherings...you will understand how Tamils in Australia are viewed...]
I work to add myself to the way Tamils are viewed by others. Hence my tireless work including through this forum to 'show' through the democratic path - the Truth about us.
[You will also understand how the singhalese are viewed...]
The way others view us would be different - as per their own agendas. I do have a South African Indian friend who is involved with SPUR. It lacks feelings as far as I am concerned. I am active with Sai Baba and Yoga Swami groups and I believe that all those genuinely connected to these Divine persons are genuinely connected to me. That has been enough for me. It has been of great help in my direct work in Sri Lanka. Tamils outside Sri Lanka tend to have their own agendas which sometimes is not linked to those in Sri Lanka. So I add mine primarily to those in Sri Lanka
We have sadly brought our attitudes with us when we migrated...]
There are good values which would enrich our new homes. With strong leadership we would get cured of the bad ones.
love

Kiwilankan,
my kids will grow up without hatred against any particular community.
Mine already have. That is the higher start we have given the next generation including our children. AB has difficulty doing this - as do many Tamils like Thivya. |

I have no problem with tamils. I'm friends with many tamils and respect tamils as sri lankans. The LTTE are cancer on the tamil race, and are a parasite to sri lanka. They need to be wiped out, so that ALL sri lankans can prosper.
Amen to that!! |

Kiwi,
I unfortunately cannot change that because of things like 83 and 58 and all historical blunders.
There have been many blunders... blunders from both sides... but we live in a modern global community now, and it's different now. Also, in 1983, not all sinhalese are bad. Only a small percentage was involved in the riots, and even the president at the time, used the riots for his own agenda... once again, i do not agree with him, but most people were too scared to stop the rioters, but people like my father who personally drove 5 of his tamil employees home (even though the drivers refused to drive because they were too scared of the rioters), my father risked himself to help. Please remember that the 1983 riots were caused by a minority and fueled by ANGER over the LTTE, and that not all sinhalese were supporting/backing the rioters (only a small % were)!
my kids will grow up without hatred against any particular community.
That's interesting, because Thivya (only on friday) said that she will send her unborn sons to go and 'kill sinhala aggressors'. It's good that you are not barbaric and primative as some of the other LTTE supporters.
.
Anyway, I'm off to the gym now, so i'll be back in a hour. We can continue that after that if you're still around. |

I was born in Australia and am a Australian citizen as well -Oz- boy not grown up yet.
Difficult to believe someone born abroad has got extreme political views against the minorities. The phrase 'kalu-sudhu' is mainly spoken by disappointed Sinhalese migrants abroad.
I know many children born abroad to all communities (S, T and M, B) from Sri Lanka. They behave like any other foreign children not knowing much about the Sinhala Only Act or de-citizenship of upcountry workers and hence they are not aware of the oppressive policies of the succussive Sri Lankan governments. |

DEBACLE for LTTE
While the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) has undeniably dealt a severe blow to the LTTE with the capture of the latter s de facto capital, Kilinochchi, the
resolution of the conflict in Sri Lanka is far from over |
