When we loose the voices from the other side we start to believe that our voice is always the right one as we fail to identify the right from the wrong simply because there is no one there to point it otherwise.

These are ORDINARY PEOPLE on the run

I was a kid traveling with my dad in 1977 when riots broke in A'Pura. I was an ordinary person too.
In 1983 I was in Col and still an ordinary person.
So what is your point?

Whether you accept it or not is immaterial.

My accepting or not will not bring them back to life but I will not diminish their sacrifice by saying their lives were lost in vain.
The death of millions of Jews is what gives the right for Israel to exist as a nation. Non of them volunteered but still they had to make that sacrifice.

President condemns Wickramatunga killing
President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday condemned the murder of Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wickramatunga.

The President in his statement said:

My Government and I most vehemently and unequivocally condemn the murder of Lasantha Wickramatunga, Editor of The Sunday Leader, which took place yesterday.

I am both grieved and shocked by his tragic death as Mr. Wickramatunga was a close friend of mine who I have known for many years as a courageous journalist. This heinous crime points to the grave dangers faced by the democratic social order of our country, and the existence of forces that will go to the furthest extremes in using terror and criminality to damage our social fabric and bring disrepute to the country.

It is significant that such an attack was carried out at a time when the country is gaining repeated victories over the forces of terrorism, in our efforts to establish freedom and democracy throughout the country.

I have directed the Police to conduct the most thorough investigation to bring to book any and all persons responsible for this act of brutality, with maximum speed.

On this sad occasion I extend my deepest sympathies to the members of the family of the late Mr. Wickramatunga, to all his colleagues in The Sunday Leader and associated newspapers, and in the profession of journalism.

Despite grave threats of this nature, my Government reiterates its commitment to upholding the principles of Media Freedom and Freedom of Expression, even under the most trying circumstances, as we have witnessed today.

This is why you need a strong opposition to the JVP which is the LTTE.

Pawan says this in a different way.

Our inner voices are right so long as we stay inside.


When I complained that my pain and loss in employment was due to Racial Discrimination, some white Australian friends said that it happened to them also. This meant they did not connect to my pain as a migrant. Someone who genuinely felt the pain would have been happy that I was doing more than they through racial equality principles. It's like the spouse 'seeing' faults that siblings do not see.

Look at this speech and that of Yapa after MTV, its the same speech with few changes. So they have a standard script they use after the crime. :)

You mean you have no back-up facility for the main hard drive?


Cmon guys, leave him alone. He doesn't have enough space to put all these hardware in the basement.
