minority protection is an essential element of democracy and prospering societies.
Obviously gosl has some weak spots at this level.
Still, there are loads of Hindi temples all over the island, official government documents available in the Tamil language and so on.
Not to mention loads of Tamil citizens who are fully integrated and a part on local communities.
Sure, a lot of improvements seem to be necessary, but a militant fight for a separate state is unlikely to bring any positive changes. |

Enogh throki ollipu has been done? why VP is no where near to waht he promised. Is it because of few people like DD anstha sangaree Kruna etc..? If so does it mean they are more powerfull than VP and preventing him from delivering what he promised. If so who is the sole reps of tamils? does it mean VP has already lost to these bunch of throkis?
Do you think Ettappan and Kaakai vanniyan were powerful than the valiant, brave Kings Pandara Vanniyan and Kattapomman? They are not powerful but they are aiding the powerful enemy and enhancing the power of the enemy. The internal enmity is the most dangerous thing than the real enemies.

After destroying LTTE terrorists and White van clearing mission GoSL should make a way to develop Norh and East. Putting Up FTZs would be a better way. Also it should alow Sinhalese and Muslims to reside in North. Just like Tamis could live in Galle and Mathara and Katharagama. Ethnic Polarisation is a one of the main reason for racism.
Moragolla project will make a way to Mass migration towards North-East. |

| I think tigers should share most of the blames for missed opportunities and loss of many lives...I am harsh at desk top Tamils from overseas who were trying justify killing.Probably for wrong reasons.I am well into compromise and to forget what happened since 1983...:-)After all we are all human of different colours and shapes,but with same strong love for our country...:-) |

I bet you have that old canvass punching bag hanging right in the middle of your living room of which you have emptied all but a few pieces of furniture.. the liquor cabinet and a few bar stools.. Don't confuse democracy with governance or popularity.
You mean you are not governed democratically?
Last time I checked.. Democracy has nothing to do with what you are saying here. A 50% opposition will give you a gutt-less minority government (LIKE THE ONE I HAVE HERE)..
Democracy means where you are not connected by common faith - you use objective evidence as a priority. Hence you need to have the opportunity to produce at least 50% of the final outcome. Then the outcomes is our true reality. Hence Equal Opportunity. If you had actually practiced the core values of democracy - you would not need to check externally. You would have confirmed internally. |
