I have never spread rumours but always provided truth.EP is hotting up after SLAF dropped few clusters and tigers are hurrying up to avoid TF1 commandos who are rushing North...I was told tigers are withdrawing fast via lyakachchi and some taking the water to be met by Navy...I was told Pottu is in charge of the tactical withdrawal...lol...

There have been understandable scenes of jubilation in Colombo and other Sinhalese majority areas of Sri Lanka over the occupation of Kilinochchi, which used to be the administrative capital of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, LTTE , by the Sri Lankan army on January 2.
These scenes bring to one's mind similar scenes one witnessed after the US army moved without resistance into Baghdad vacated by Saddam Hussein's army in 2003 and shortly thereafter President George W Bush proclaimed 'Mission Accomplished.

' Almost six years later, the violence still continues in Iraq. His proclamation of 'Mission Accomplished' has kept haunting him since then. Shortly after the US troops entered Baghdad, I had pointed out that the US army's entry into Baghdad marked the end of one phase of the war and the beginning of another.

In other words - Sri Lankans have moved backwards - away from democracy. A true democracy would have 50% opposition.

Last time I checked.. Democracy has nothing to do with what you are saying here. A 50% opposition will give you a gutt-less minority government (LIKE THE ONE I HAVE HERE).. Don't confuse democracy with governance or popularity.

My dream is to see 53rd & 55th coming down-southwards!

Has the Navy reception committee been able to welcome any of the migrant Tigers?

Freedom1,

again best wishes and a positive new year.

Thank you and likewise to you

Just said, that most Sri Lankan Tamils i have talked to would prefer peace and a full stop of militant LTTE activities.

Given that we do not have a reliable structure through which to know the Truth - we are left largely to shared experiences. When we share experiences - we draw our own conclusions / develop our own values as per our path. If our paths are the same - or are connected by one trunk - then our common values would look similar.

Most Tamils do wish for peace. Not many have actually worked and/or sacrificed enough for it.
