Tamils are loosing eiher way. Have you heard whats happening in the East and Vavuniya, everyday Tamils are leaving due to fear and state terror and Sinhalese from the south are moving in. There will always be terror directed against Tamil population regardless of if LTTE is there or not.
Rapes are taking place that does not get reported even on TN, only after the victims open their mouths after several months that you will see accounts in UTHR and reliable sources.
In a way LTTE has brought about their own downfall to allow the army procede this far from Sampoor to Kili, but GOSL menace is what people fear the most. That is why ordinary Tamils end up helping LTTE in Colombo and East to attack GOSL. Injustices such as ethnic cleansing need to be corrected, otherwise guerilla attacks agasint GOSL will go on forever.
I have a mate in the East who had 3 anti-LTTE sites some time back. After GOSL took areas from Sampoor to Thoppigala and after 1.5 yrs of 'liberation' he has taken down those sites. He still does not like LTTE but he knows the terror motives of GOSL. I think if LTTE is reduced to a guerilla outfit they will have more support and assistance from the Tamil population. |
