Chenn

I have always wondered why you have this obsessive compulsion to fix the problems in SL before you fix the not inconsiderable problems in your own state....and once you have fixed all the problems in your own state, maybe you could tackle the problems in your country before you try to fix other countries

Bassa,

I totally agree with all that you say with one exception....i find it difficult to agree that velu should represnt the tamils.....he was not democratically elected to represent the tamils and it is very difficult to agree that he should be rewarded for all these years of death and destruction......

Whether we like it or not, we have to deal with the reality. When Mahinda Rajapakse addressed the Tamils in Jaffna last week, he was addressing the wrong audience. The 'real' force behind this war is Tamil Diaspora in the West. He would have been better off addressing the Tamils living overseas. It is mostly the refugees and the poor people living in the Jaffna Peninsular now. This is why, you can't completely ignore Prabhakaran. But, whether he (or his supporters) are up to this challenge, is a different matter. Prabhakaran had long ago told his cadres to shoot him dead if he ever veers off the goal of establishing Eelam. So, he is now a prisoner of his own making (and many Tamils in the Diaspora). But, even his top leutenants must be asking this question: how long can this go on before our people completely break down?

I am not quite sure how many Tamils in the Diaspora have a real grasp of the situation back home. Even if they do, they might prefer to be in denial.

I cant believe people are celebrating this military victory against an army that is ten times smaller in size and posseses less sophisticated weaponry than the state forces.

Because no matter what, Terrorists are to be eliminated, either it is one or 10000 all belong to the same category,..
In similar situation, Why do people celebrate after winning Cricket matches or any other game irrespective to the opponent ?

Because, Win is a Win,. That's you have to believe...

If you win a presidential election by one vote or one million votes, the outcome is the same, you will be the president,...
