You talk about demonstrations in Jaffna but surely you are not stupid enough to believe that those were anything but showpieces put on by bought and paid for operatives of the GOSL like the EPDP. Those were done to showcase to the South and to the world that the northern Tamil masses actually support the GOSL and the war. The Tamil people themselves don't beleive it for a second. Why don't you ask any on this forum.
Yes, surely there has been LTTE propaganda but what is better than any propaganda is the actual conditions of life that the people of the Wanni have been subject to by the GOSL. What do you think of aerial bombing, shelling, mass displacement and occupation as propaganda? Far more effective than any ideological propaganda of the LTTE don't you think?
I prefer a country in which all the people of all communities can live equally and with dignity. However this cannot be achieved through military domination. That is the point that those who calim to be patriotic don't get. In order to have one country with a united people the people actually have to have a stake in the institutions of the country. The reality today is a Sinhala army occupying Tamil villages and towns and causing massive death, destruction and displacement. Do you think that will lead to a united country?
No matter how many Sinhala soldiers you are willing to sacrifice and how many Tamils you kill your goal of a united Sri Lanka will only get further and further.
You think that by taking land from the Tamils you are destroying the LTTE. You think that by killing LTTE members you will solve the problem. But you are so very wrong. The LTTE which you have swallowed the lie as being a criminal or terrorist group is actually an expression of the Tamils peoples desire for resistance and self determination. You can eradicate the LTTE only be eradicating the Tamil people.
Your leaders understand that to some degree and that is why they are heavily punishing the people of the Wanni. But the Ealam Tamils have already arisen. You cannot push them back into the position of subservience again. The LTTE will fight on and the Tamil people will support them.
The only way to end this is to address the grievances of the Tamil people with the LTTE as negotiation partners. This is difficult bu there is no other way. However as long as there are 'patriots' willing to send the village youth to kill and be killed for their chauvanist illusions this bloodbath will continue. |

in 30 years we have seen just death and destruction as we have been unable to deal with these terrorists due to the lack of political will or because of bleeding heart idiots like you . in the mean time we have lost many friends and family . so forgive us when we rejoice in ones step of the decimation of the forces that caused us all this death and destruction .
You cannot sit idly by and let people kill your family and the country you love which seem to be what idiots like you are proposing . Yes we have had substantial losses and inflicted the same or more on the other forces . Let us hope this will be a lesson to us for our new independence day for which many have laid their lives . to never let our guard down and to never let this happen again . |
